The Dispute Between NRC and CGI
If you have been following the ongoing public duel between N. Robin Crossby and Columbia Games Inc. in the HârnForum, you will know that their war of words was not helping to elevate the image of Hârn. And like two towering giants hurling massive rocks at each other, they couldn't help but cause damage around them: existing fans were frustrated and confused, newcomers were being driven away from the product, and nobody was happy. So, conscious of this, both parties have promised to keep their fighting private, and not draw in the fans. As a result, they have asked for all threads relating to their dispute to be immediately removed.
If you haven't been following the dispute, then you can get a summary of it here:
CGI & NRC Clash Swords Again!
The feud between Columbia Games Inc. (publisher of Hârn material) and N. Robin Crossby (author of Hârn) re-surfaced in the HârnForum today with each side claiming the other is conducting an illegal activity in publishing their own version of HârnMaster. Details of this diatribe can be found here:

MEASUREMENTS ON HÂRN
Like medieval Europe, Hârn features a myriad of weights and measures.
Article by Jim O'Neil. Most measures are imprecise at best, many rely on body parts that change with every individual. The standard is a grown man of 'average' size, although the Guilds have been pressuring to bring more uniformity. Typical are: The Thumb (width) measured at...

NOTARIUS: Commercial Transactions on HârnArticle by Scott Pfeiffer.
Hârn, though medieval in environment, has a very late medieval feel to its guild and commerce structures. Because of this, I felt it would be helpful to document the legal complexities of commercial transactions on Hârn...

Fansite Driven Out of Town By Fans
It is a very sad state of affairs - Sir Eldaen has taken his excellent HârnMaster.net site offline indefinitely. And this was a direct result of some moralizing HârnForum members publicly taking umbrage at fansites that offer free homemade Hârn material for download and at the same time have a PayPal Donate button on those sites.
There are only a few fansites out there that have a PayPal button (WarFlail's Armoury included), but Sir Eldaen in particular felt that the "discussion" was a thinly veiled attack on the manner in which he offered his latest module, Carved in Stone, to the Hârn community. So, having taken offence, he has killed his own site.
Fans driving away high quality fansites... What is the world coming to!
New Fan-built HârnWorld Adventure Module
Sir Eldaen has uploaded an amazing adventure module on his site, that took him a year to complete. The presentation is extremely professional, and the adventure scenario itself is well thought-out and will really challenge the problem-solving abilities of the PCs. And it is totally free!
Here is the brief synopsis for the module, Carved in Stone:
Carved in Stone is an adventure specifically designed for use with HârnWorld. It is set in the Sirion region on the northwestern shore of Lake Benath, a region inhabited by fierce barbarian tribes and bloodthirsty gargun.
The crew of a stranded fishing boat discover an ancient Khuzan hatchet and bring it home to their lord. The player characters are sent in the hope of recovering other treasures, especially certain written works that date back to the time of the Battle of Sirion...

Fansite Updated
Remember that Hârn fansite I announced back in November, The Gentle Companions? Back then, as a lean startup site, all I could describe it as was "very interesting". However, the site has undergone enormous improvements since then with more excellent artwork and more well-written journal entries. My description for it now is "bloody professional!" - check it out to see what I mean.
No Dicey Business?
There hasn't been a Dicey Business broadcast from Columbia Games in over two months now, which is a pity since for a while there, they had a regular thing going... Hopefully, HârnQuest 5 will be out soon, so they will have something new to announce.
Or will it? Who knows, following the bust-up between Columbia Games and N. Robin Crossby...
