HÂRN LINK is one link poorer today with the untimely demise of Castlewalls. Sad to see such a fine looking site go like this... :-(
I've made a couple more additions to the HMC Miscellaneous Combat House Rules, which is now version 1.7. One of the new house rules addresses the issue of HMC characters falling unconscious all too quickly in combat, and another does likewise with HMC's rather frequent weapon breakage. Enjoy.

The house rules keep on coming over at Bill Gant's HârnMaster House Rules page:

I've made a small change to the HMC Miscellaneous Combat House Rules. Now at version 1.6a, the only change has been to the Injury Table & Impact Aspect house rule (page 1), where I have adjusted the impact values to more closely resemble those used in HMG.

All right, my knight made the listing for the upcoming tournament at The HârnMaster Jousting Page. Sir Marick of Arwine's blazon is up as well - looks terrific! Excellent work, Matthias! :-)
For a description of this mighty knight, go to Matthias' site and click on the Hall of Fame button.
I am very much looking forward to being on the participating end of the tournament for a change. Fight well, Sir Marick! Strike hard and fast!

Another update at Bill Gant's HârnMaster House Rules:
| Saturday, 10 November 2001 |
Not wanting to be left out of the fun of actually participating in a jousting tournament (as opposed to running one), I created a contestant for the upcoming tilt at The HârnMaster Jousting Page.
Sir Marick of Arwine hails from the kingdom of Kanday, and represents the Earl of Heroth. Let's see how the knights of Kaldor fare against him! :-)
Many
thanks, by the way, to Peter Leitch for making available at
Lythia.com my recent article that compares HMC and HMG basic combat.
The feedback I have received so far is that people agree with my conclusion that, as the basic rules stand, HMC is far superior to HMG. However, no self-respecting HârnGamer uses just the basic rules, and instead makes use of at least some of the plethora of optional rules offered in both publications. So, there is some pressure for me to put out a similar article but with all the optional rules in play. I fully intend to do this, but it will take some time.
If you haven't read the article yet, you can download it from here. Or from Peter's site, of course!

A new addition to HÂRN LINK is the following new site by Jocke Andersson:
The site is a work-in-progress, without too much Hârn-related material,
but what is there is of the highest quality. Check out the maps!

I may have been away a whole week, but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy! :-)
A few updates at Bill Gant's HârnMaster House Rules:
I am also very pleased to have received my copy of Trobridge Inn, the latest HârnWorld publication from Columbia Games. Overall, I am quite impressed with it. I would give a review for it, but Ken Snellings has already done an excellent job of doing just that, and I agree with all his comments. You can read Ken's review at RPG.net.
