The funeral service for Scully's grandma took place this morning at Fremantle Cemetery (yes, the same place where Bon Scott, lead singer of the band AC/DC, is buried). It was a small gathering of family and close friends. Scully gave an excellent eulogy, and the readings by the minister and friends of the family were appropriate.

A sad day for my wife Scully today, as her grandmother on her mother's side, Jean Isobel Rynor, passed away last night at Fremantle Hospital. She was aged 88.

Rest in peace, Grandma.

My Hugin (one of Odin's two ravens and spies) of the Net, Ned Kelly, has found an interesting article that looks again at the age-old debate between roleplaying games (RPGs) and computer roleplaying games (CRPGs):

He's also spotted the following useful site, which has now found its way into the So where is the Armoury? page:

Medieval Arms and Armour

Thanks for the contributions, Ned! :-)

Eminent artist Richard Luschek (aka Catfish) has unveiled another masterpiece: Bravardion, Demigod of Adventure.

Bravardion and his trusty warflail.

And so once again, off as he came. Dressed in simple clothes, ready to receive the dust of the road. Bravardion marched forward with no thought of what is behind, and eyes forward in that search for adventure. He most certainly would find it. His trusty hound behind, ever watchful of the troubles of the past.

My friendly neighbourhood Net trawler, Ned Kelly, has spotted this cool site, which features some awesome 3D environments and castle textures, all freely available for download. A pity about the annoying music, though... Anyway, check it out:

It appears that the domain host for WarFlail's Armoury, doteasy.com, has made progress in resolving the DOS attack, but it hasn't been completely stopped. Hacking activities are still going on, so filters have been installed on the network to monitor the traffic and protect the servers. This may result in a slower access speed to this site for the time being. I hope this won't last for too long. So, if this site is taking a while to load, this is the reason why.

Monday, 14 May 2001

If you've been having problems reaching this site today, it is because its domain host, doteasy.com is currently trying to defend itself against a barrage of Denial of Service (DOS) attacks being launched by hackers who are probably doing this simply because they think it's cool. Those bastards! Hopefully, if you are reading this message, the domain host has managed to resolve the problem.

All right, I have some more photos of Cade available for viewing. Now, WarFlail's Armoury is not the place to host a gallery of cute baby photos, so I've set up a separate website dedicated to my little boy. Visit the site of... SON OF WARFLAIL! :-)

Mother's Day

Our son came along just in time for this! :-)

Many thanks to everyone who sent us well-wishes on the birth of our son! We really appreciate it.

Okay, photos. I don't have too many photos of little Cade developed just yet, but I've posted a couple of choice ones below.

I've also posted a couple of pics of Tony and Nicole at their wedding last month (they were on the same roll of film). Click here for the link to take you to the archive.

The most wonderful thing happened this evening: I became a FATHER! My wife Scully gave birth to our son Cade (aka MiniFlail!) at 8:30pm. He was about 12 days earlier than expected. It was quite an ordeal - Cade was born 36 hours after Scully was admitted into our local hospital, but the effort was definitely worth it. Words really can't describe the emotional elation I felt at holding the baby in my arms and seeing him look at me. At 3.3kg (7lbs 4oz) and 53cm long, Cade is on the bigger side of average. And he's got a pretty well-developed set of lungs already, I have to say! :-)

Both mother and son are doing just fine. What a relief!

Who needs to rent martial arts movies from the video store when you can watch awesome combat action with XIAOXIAO on the Net? This fight sequence had me in stitches! Check it out, it's absolutely hilarious:

Thanks, Ned Kelly, for letting me know the URL! :-)

As I had indicated last month, the iiNet host for WarFlail's Armoury has vanished, as I am no longer subscribed with that ISP. If you had linked or bookmarked to WarFlail's Armoury or any of its subsidiary sites (such as HÂRN LINK) through an iinet.net.au or wantree.com.au address, you will find that they don't work anymore. Please be sure to update your links as soon as possible to:
